Zeena Zaiyouna

Zeena Zaiyouna is a committed yogi of ten years, an interdisciplinary educator and artist maker who considers herself extremely fortunate to have experienced training teachers on the rhyme and rest of play, creative movement, and pedagogy on four continents.

Zeena Zaiyouna’s love affair with the expression and resonance of piano began when she came home one day in grade one, to a brand new piano. When she was thirteen, she swears by it, the oboe picked her!  After years of formal classical music training, she now studies jazz piano with teacher Matt Pines and currently plays oboe in two orchestras in Toronto, including the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra. Zeena released her first E.P album as a grant recipient of the Ontario Arts Council in 2010 and her fingers are crossed she will have another opportunity to produce more music in this lifetime.

Zeena is most in her water element while supporting the community in the inner work of meditation, movement, and proper breathing, of course! Cultivating spaces that inspire people to express and feel their world differently, is why improvising on the piano during Tuesday night Yin is such a highlight. She is thankful to all Moksha communities for making it possible to rediscover inner peace, love, and kindness on their mats every day.

Zeena plays beautiful piano Tuesday nights at 8pm in our warm Yin Yoga class.
