From her very first hot yoga experience at age 18, yoga has helped Jess grapple with some of life’s most pressing questions: “Who am I and what am I here to do?” These questions and her thirst for physical, intellectual, and spiritual engagement have led her to many great teachers.
After completing the inaugural Moksha Teacher Training in 2004, Jess traveled to France, Trinidad, and Las Vegas to teach and study, combining her love of yoga and travel.
Passionate about learning and committed to continual education, she has taken over 1,000 hours of training in a variety of yoga styles and methods, including Moksha Yoga, Baptiste Power Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation. Through workshops, retreats and mentorship opportunities, Jess has had the honor of holding space for others as they open themselves to new experiences, push their edges, and find out what truly inspires them on and off the mat. She is especially passionate about helping new teachers find their voice.
Though she will challenge, Jess teaches from the heart and believes that true power comes when we get out of our own way and open to the intrinsic flow of every moment.
Jess lives in Toronto with her partner and son and travels frequently for adventure and teaching opportunities. Since becoming a mother has found the true meaning of ‘yoga off the mat’ and after all these years feels incredibly humbled and honored to call teaching her vocation. Jess has an Honor’s Bachelor’s of Arts degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Toronto and though her last name is Lemon, she is actually pretty sweet.
