Don has always embraced the spirit of social and environmental responsibility through entrepreneurship. In 1989 he launched a music management company, representing artists who musically expressed values he could stand behind. This passionate endeavour led Don to be the founding director of the Canadian chapter of the International Music Managers Forum; a title he held until leaving the music business in 1995. A strong desire to get out from behind the desk led Don to create the successful High Park Fence & Deck company, which garnered Readerʼs Choice awards in the local Bloor West Villager newspaper. Don believes the physical challenges brought on by years of using power tools and working outside is largely what drew him to find yoga. He began practicing in 2000 and graduated from the inaugural Moksha Yoga Teacher Training in 2004. In 2007 Don opened the original Moksha Yoga Bloor West. MYBW became a true pillar in the community, hosting several charitable functions and helping to strengthen an already connected community. The studio was voted ʻBest Studio in the Cityʼ on the ever-popular social media board BlogTO.com and ʻBest Yoga Studioʼ Readerʼs Choice Award from the Bloor West Villager newspaper three years in a row. When not teaching, he does his best to connect with his family, which includes a lot of trees.
