Mindfulness Pilates is an accessible (all-levels) warm practice (26-28’C) designed to cultivate strength and relaxation with a focus on the power of the breath to awaken core support and calm the nervous system. The aim of this class will be to facilitate slow, deliberate strength-building while providing ample time for stretching and relaxation to leave you feeling balanced in mind and body.
Some benefits of a Mindful Pilates practice are a greater appreciation for the body (in all its subtly and complexity), improved posture, injury prevention and a stronger more stable yoga practice.
In addition to classic Pilates movements, this class may include yin/restorative yoga poses, mindfulness cueing, savasana and/or meditation.
Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.
